I am brand new to Joomla (though not CMS as a concept, I have worked some with Wordpress & Craft in the past).
However, when I try to setup a new project, I get the following error:
"Could not connect to the database. Connector returned error message. Could not make a connection because the target machine actively refused it."
* I am using Xampp (Apache & MySQL), they both run fine, although I got a firewall warning the first time I started them yesterday. But now they run just fine.
* Joomla (5.0.3) has been installed in Xampp/htdocs
* My database config I try to setup in Joomla:
Host name: localhost
Username: root
No pw
* I went into Control Panel/Windows Defender/advanced/Outbound Rules. Here I added a new rule, "Allow MySQL Outbound" and added the following ports: 80, 443, 3306, 3325 (In Xammp, MySQL uses port 3325, Apache uses ports 80, 443).
Still, the error persists. Has anyone else had this issue? How to resolve it?
